Neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis, ultrastructural examination of peripheral blood lymphocytes
Intracytoplasmic vacuoles, particularly large vacuoles imparting a signet rings cell appearance to lymphocytes, may be demonstrated in patients with neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis, and can be used as part of the diagnostic evaluation.
