Long distance relies more on red fibers. Additionally, White fibers are types IIa and IIb, used more for sprinting.  (See References)

This answer is incorrect.


White fibers (types IIa and IIb) are larger, contain relatively few mitochondria, and contract in briefer, more powerful twitches. Type IIb fibers use glycolysis almost exclusively to fuel their contractions and fatigue very rapidly. This would be used more for sprinting.  (See References)
